As it's winter, and I've entered into what some people call the "off season", it's a great time to reflect on why I do what I do and what that means to me. I love getting to know people and helping them realize their vision. I love the thrill of working with couples all year for it to all culminate on the big day. And I LOVE preparing and packaging up all the awesome wedding goodies that come with a package when you book me.
Yes, there is a ton of post-wedding work. Yes, there are thousands of images to cull and then edit. But the thrill I get of seeing the job I was hired to do come together with eye-opening imagery is something so special. I can only say that I feel so lucky to be doing this for a living; it's pretty magical.
This post is about all the fun goodies you get after-the-fact. I'm talking about your custom USB drive of all the best photos from your wedding, which I personally cull and edit myself. An effect of this is often recognizing people I've photographed in weddings around Vermont. It takes a lot of effort to remember that they probably don't know who I am; I only recognize them because I've been starting at hundreds of images of them and editing them for weeks. But I've digressed.
With every package, there is a Custom USB drive of all the high resolution images I've edited, wrapped and packaged just for you. I also make it a point to include prints in each wedding and engagement package. With everything so digitalized now, it can be really easy to keep those wedding photos tucked away in a folder on your computer or to leave that USB in a drawer for safe keeping. I am a HUGE advocate of wall art and of displaying photographs. In fact, my home looks like a freakin' art gallery (side note: we may or may not have labels on all of our wall art...). So it is this reason that I include five professionally printed photographs in all my packages. Each package also comes with print credits, so you have a built-in-already-paid-for reason to buy more prints! You are able to do this through the online gallery via Pixieset which is also a part of my packages. The galleries look a little bit like this (keep in mind this is an abbreviated version. You will get hundreds of photos!):
Online galleries are made via Pixieset and are included in every Owl's Iris Wedding Package!
The above photos are from Carrie & Tom's magical wedding at Button Bay State Park, following by one of the most fun wedding receptions EVER at Shelburne Vineyards. I was super stoked when I saw The Farmhouse Group setting up a taco bar. Amazing. Their DJ, childhood friend of Tom's, played songs to please my old high school self, and it was as incredible as it sounds.
One of my favorite post-wedding jobs to do is to create the wedding album, included in most packages. It is a time where I get to sit down with you and curate something that will be cherished by you forever. It is so much fun to relive the day with you and this time through your eyes!
There are a bunch of different cover, page, and print options. Don't worry, I will help you choose the best options for you. I'll make a preliminary draft, and then we will sit down together and go through it. I want you to have some say in what will be in here too! When it's done and delivered in your hands, it will be such a joy to be able to share this album with family and friends, and you will have it for a lifetime!
All in all, I am just so lucky to be able to share my creative talents with people like you. I feel like I have one of the best jobs in the whole world. Not only do I get to create art, I get to meet the most amazing people and create the most amazing bonds with them. I am truly grateful to all of my past, present, and future clients.
So give me a shout, I'd love to work with you!
